Pate places at USTA regional
Local tennis player Maggie Pate has been on a roll lately.
Pate placed second overall at the USTA Closed Southern Regional Championship in Mobile, Alabama, held the weekend of Feb. 13 to 15.
As the No. 3 seed in the Girls 16 Singles division, she defeated Angel Carney, 2-6; 7-5; 6-3, to advance to the championship round, where she lost, 6-0; 6-2, to top-seeded Imani Graham.
