Strawberry Recipe: Strawberry-Pretzel Salad

Strawberry-Pretzel Salad

This dessert is sure to be a hit at your family gathering or church function.

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 cups pretzels, finely crushed

3 tbs brown sugar

3/4 cups butter

1 pkg (6 oz) strawberry Jell-O

16 oz sliced fresh strawberries

1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese

1 cup sugar

8 oz Cool Whip

DIRECTIONS

Combine pretzels, brown sugar and melted butter and press into a greased 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Make Jell-O according to package instructions, and add the strawberries. Refrigerate until partially set. (If it is not set enough, it will leak through your cream cheese layer and make your pretzels soggy.)

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Blend in cool whip. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust.

Pour Jell-O over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate.
