SOCCER

+ TOPSoccer schedule released

TOPSoccer, a Brandon-based program for special needs athletes, just released its fall 2015 schedule and is now accepting registrations.

The program, which is run by volunteers, is for East Hillsborough athletes 5 and older who wish to learn the game of soccer and to become involved with Florida Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer.

Brandon Area Youth Soccer League is host to TOPSoccer games and events. Registration will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 14, 21 and 28, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 22 and 29 at the BAYSL clubhouse, 3104 S. Kings Ave., Brandon.

The season begins September 12 and ends November 14.

All players must show a copy of their IEP registration. Volunteers may also apply, and high schoolers are encouraged to sign up and earn community service hours.

FOOTBALL

+ PCHS to host summer camp

The Plant City High Raiders are hosting a football camp Saturday, July 25.

From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., campers can learn the ins and outs of the game with new head coach Greg Meyer and his staff at the Raiders’ field, 1 Raider Place.

Registration costs $35 per camper, covering tuition costs and a t-shirt, and checks can be made payable to the Plant City Recreation & Parks Department.

ALL-STARS ROUNDUP

9/10 BASEBALL

The 9/10 Baseball A team, winners of their district, will begin state tournament play Friday, July 17, in Fort Myers.

JUNIORS BASEBALL

Juniors Baseball, which defeated Lake Wales last week to win the district, will begin sectionals play Friday, July 17, at Lake Wales.

10/11 BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL

The 10/11 Baseball and Softball teams were both eliminated from sectionals last week. It was the first game action of the All-Star season for 10-11 softball, which was not required to play a district tournament before moving on to sectionals.
