Sylvia Monroe Murphy Prescott
Sylvia Monroe Murphy Prescott, 69 died June 28, 2013.
Mrs. Prescott was born Feb. 1, 1944, in Lakeland to the late James Monroe and Ruby Shiver Prescott.
Mrs. Prescott retired from the Polk County School District, where she had been a custodian. She was affiliated with New Home Baptist Church, she enjoyed animals and bluegrass music.
Survivors include sons, James “Robby” (Shaun) Prescott, of Lakeland, and Curtis M. Prescott; sister, JoAnn Hodge; grandsons, Cody, Dylan and Jacob Prescott; great-grandchildren, Carsten, Cayson, Hunter and Arianna Prescott.
She was predeceased by sister, Lucille Gibson.
A graveside funeral service was held July 3, at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Lakeland.
