Matthew R. Price
Matthew R. Price, age 49, of Dunedin, Fla, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the morning of Sunday, Apr. 13, 2025, after a lifelong battle of complications related to congenital heart disease. Matthew was born July 3, 1975, to Alan and Nancy Price in Alma, Georgia. Matthew was a graduate from Plant City High School in 1995 and went on to work in the telecommunication industry for over 25 years at XO Communications and Verizon. In 1997, Matthew met the love of his life Summer at Publix, and they went on to marry and have two sons, Blake (24) and Maxton (9).
Matthew was always a family man and prioritized his family above everything else in his life. Matthew was a selfless, gentle, and kind-hearted soul who spent most of his life thinking about others. He taught us all that kindness was the best virtue a person could have. He lived life to the fullest and always surrounded himself with his family, which is where he felt most comfortable and loved. Matthew loved his family dearly and would make a point through daily affirmations to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible.
Matthew was a foodie and loved all things sour. In his free time, he always enjoyed exploring new food venues, watching sports, shopping with his wife Summer, and of course he never turned down an opportunity to go saltwater fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife Summer of 24 years, his two sons Blake and Maxton, his father and mother Alan and Nancy, sister Brenda (Rick), brother Mark (Angie), sister Malinda, and brother Luke (Katie); along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
As Matthew prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same – go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those surrounded by him. He will be missed tremendously by all those who knew him.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, Bethany Baptist Church, 3409 N. Cork Rd. Plant City, FL 33565 Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.
