Plant City's Walmart location is expected to add a bank in the spring.
The store, located at 2602 James L. Redman Parkway, will host one of Axiom Bank's two new Tampa Bay-area branches. Axiom Bank currently has 20 branches, five of which are currently in the area, and the two new branches will be located in Walmart Supercenters. The other April 2017 opening will be at the Walmart at 19910 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa.
"There are currently only a few community banks with $500 million to $1.5 billion in assets serving the Tampa Bay area," Axiom Bank president and CEO Dan Davis said in a release. "As the second largest community bank in the region, we have the opportunity to serve even more customers with these new branches."
