While there are a number of candidates that I believe genuinely have the best interest of the community and everyone in it (as opposed to a smaller, wealthier part of the community), these two have been active locally for years, as I believe the have both run before. The experience and knowledge of the local commission and how it actually functions is invaluable.
Or you could vote for the two candidates that were able to spend tens of thousands of dollars for a job that does not pay, who claim to want “responsible” growth (contracts for my friends). We already saw this play out with Christine Miller on the Hillsborough BoCC and the Superfund site in Dover, we don’t need mini-Millers on the city commission approving a daycare on the old landfill site.
