The United Food Bank of Plant City has announced Mary Heysek has been hired as the new executive director. She will start in September.
Heysek joined the United Food Bank board of directors in 2011 and has served on the Executive Board of Directors since January 2015. She is the owner/partner at MedStat Healthcare Services Inc. Prior to MedStat, she was involved in the start up of MedLink Corporation and has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has been active in serving the community, including at the Plant City YMCA, Child Abuse Council, Friends of the Library, SPCA and served as past PTA president for five years.
Heysek has knowledge of A/R management strategies, physician recruitment, billing and back office operations, ROI development and marketing and promotions.
“I am excited to start this new chapter as the executive director of the United Food Bank,” Heysek said. “I’m thankful for the opportunity and will work hard to collectively make a difference in so many lives of our fellow residents.”

Heysek has four sons, which include triplet boys. Her hobbies and interests include running/fitness, animals and tennis. She takes over as executive director for Christine Miller, who took a position as the president of the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce earlier this summer.
