United Food Bank of Plant City receives $20,000 donation from Publix

In Plant City, one corporate company is making a big impact in a small town.

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, Publix Super Markets Charities presented the United Food Bank of Plant City with a $20,000 check. The donation is part of a $5 million donation to the Feeding America network that the Lakeland-based company announced at the end of August.

Brian West, the media and community relations manager at Publix, presented the check to United Food Bank Executive Director Mary Heysek. 

The $5 million donation is divided between 28 member food banks and 38 local partner agencies across Publix's operating areas.
