Two Walden Lake residents dead in apparent murder-suicide

Two people were found dead in their Walden Lake home Sunday, Aug. 23, in an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Plant City Police Department.

At about 8:17 p.m. the Plant City Police Department received a 911 call in reference to the discovery of a woman dead inside of the home at 1904 N. Golfview Drive. When police arrived, they also discovered the body of a man. Both the man and woman had sustained gunshot wounds to their heads.

The woman has been identified as Jessie C. Smith, 91, of Plant City, and the man has been identified as Bobby Smith, 82, of Plant City. The victims were siblings and lived together.

This investigation is still active, and no further information will be released at this time, according to PCPD.
