Thonotosassa man arrested for sexual battery of a 12-year-old

Jose Luis Olquin-Sanchez, of Thonotosassa, was arrested and charged with sexual battery, two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and false imprisonment after he assaulted a 12-year-old girl trying to sell juice boxes to earn money.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports, at about 2:19 p.m. May 20, Olquin-Sanchez, invited the victim into his trailer. The victim was attempting to sell juice boxes to make extra money, while her father was pressure-washing inside the trailer park.

The victim approached the defendant’s trailer, and the defendant answered the door. The defendant told the victim that he had more juice boxes she could sell and invited her into the trailer. Once inside, the trailer, the defendant placed juice boxes on top of the ones the victim had in the box. The defendant then grabbed both her arms and did not allow her to leave. The defendant then sexually battered the victim as she screamed and tried to escape.

The suspect got up a short time later and threw money into the victim’s box. The victim ran home and told her mother what had occurred.

When deputies arrived, they interviewed the victim and located the man matching the victim’s description.
