Student receives Vanguard Award

Jackson Hardee was recognized at center court during half time of the Plant City High School/ Durant High School Boys Basketball Game for winning the prestigious November Vanguard Award. The Vanguard Award recognizes athletes that excel in the classroom and are active in community service.

Hardee received a trophy and Plant City High School received $1,000 to use toward the school athletic program. The award is sponsored by Swope Radonte P.A. attorneys. Stephanie Miles, Attorney and Ashley Smoot, Marketing Specialist with Swope Radonte made the presentation.

Hardee is a senior who specializes in pole vaulting with the varsity track team.  He captured the Western Conference Pole Vaulting title last year. He was named the Tampa Bay Times “Hot Shot of the Week” as a junior. He has a 5.36 GPA and was awarded the Kids are Heroes Award as a sophomore for his work with the Wounded Warriors Project. He is the current president of the Junior Civitan Service Club where he leads his club serving and feeding the homeless once a month. He is the son of Casey Hardee and LaShawn Hardee.
