Three Plant City roads were temporarily closed Monday as a result of a structure fire at the R&L Metals, Inc. property at 405 E. Alabama St..
Plant City Police Department announced on Twitter it closed the areas of East Alabama and South Hitchcock streets and East Alabama and South Lake streets until the fire is extinguished and it is safe to drive through the area. The roads were reopened just before 2 p.m.
Plant City Fire Rescue battalion chief Keith Kiffner said the fire was caused by an electrical issue in one of the buildings, and that no one was inside when the fire started.
