
PCPD caught fleeing suspect. CAUGHT FLEEING SUSPEC
Thanks to the coordinated and exceptional efforts of Plant City officers, a 17-year-old male juvenile has been apprehended in connection with several vehicle burglaries where multiple firearms and other items were stolen. On May 5, at approximately 6:25 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Burchwood Avenue following a 911 call from a resident who observed a suspect inside a vehicle parked on private property. The suspect fled on foot prior to the officers’ arrival, but was quickly located in the vicinity by alert units who maintained visual contact until the individual was safely detained.
During the investigation, officers recovered the following three stolen firearms in the juvenile’s possession:
Ruger .380
Smith & Wesson 9mm
Glock 44
In addition to the firearms, several other personal items reported stolen from multiple victims were also recovered.
The Plant City Police Department charged the juvenile with two counts of armed burglary (1st degree felony) and three counts of possession of a firearm by a minor (1st degree misdemeanor). He was remanded to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
