+ Rowland pitches perfect game
Throwing a perfect game is every pitcher’s dream, and a Plant City youth can now say that he’s done it. Blaine Rowland, of the Brewington’s Towing Juniors team, threw a perfect game Monday night in a 10-0 win over the Lott Farms team on Field 2 at Mike Sansone Park.
SOFTBALL
+ PCHS takes district lead
Last week, the Plant City and East Bay softball teams were tied for the district lead. At home Thursday, March 19, the Lady Raiders found themselves facing a 9-2 deficit in the sixth inning against East Bay.
But the Lady Raiders, powered its way back into the game, taking hold of the district with a 10-9 win.
In the sixth inning, the Lady Raiders’ hung four runs on the Lady Indians to make it a 9-6 game.
In the bottom seventh, sophomore standout Edmilly Molina came up clutch by hitting a walk-off grand slam over the fence in right center, capping off a night in which she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two walks, two runs and a home run.

+ PCHS, DHS compete in meet
Plant City High School hosted a home meet Thursday, March 19.
The Plant City boys won first place.
