CHEERLEADING

+ Local athletes make USF team

University of South Florida recently added two Plant City-area athletes to its All-Girls Cheer Team roster.

Plant City High alum Crystal Johnson, along with Strawberry Crest High alum Georgia Foster, will compete with the USF squad this season. The team is mostly seen cheering at USF home and away sporting events and does work throughout the community, but it also competes in the UCA College Nationals tournaments each year. Johnson and Foster will travel with the team to Orlando in January for the next competition.
