Police searching for Plant City shooting suspect

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jose Alejandro Esparza, 32, who is wanted for attempted murder and domestic violence. 

Esparza and his stepbrother, Ramiro Silva, 22, of 2808 Chance Place, Plant City, got into an argument at about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Esparza shot Silva in the face. It is unknown why they were arguing.

Esparza fled the scene in a 1999 or 2000 White Dodge Durango, with Florida tags.

Silva was transported by family members to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Espranza is described as a Hispanic, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He is medium build and bald with a black goatee and brown eyes.

He is armed with a small-caliber handgun and thought to be in the area of 2710 Chance Place, Plant City.
