PLANT CITY: By the Numbers

Every 10 years, an analysis of the City of Plant City’s financial condition is compiled and presented in a report called the Financial Trend Monitoring System. The report is used by local governments to identify potential areas of financial difficulty, help plan for the future and formulate public policy.

Different indicators such as population, salaries, property tax revenue and unemployment are used to construct the economic health of Plant City in the report. The indicators are recommended by the International City Management Association.

The report is divided into five sections of indicators:

• Community Resource

• Revenue

• Expenditure

• Operating Position

• Debt

The report covers data from FY 2004 to FY 2013. The information has been adjusted for inflation, using 1997 as the base year.

*Note: Years are fiscal years ending Sept. 30.
