Plant City motorcyclist dies in crash

A 33-year-old Plant City man died in a motorcycle accident this morning in Brandon on U.S. 301, just north of State Road 60, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist has not been identified, pending next of kin notification.

At about 3:15 a.m. the motorcyclist was driving a 2004 Yamaha west on State Road 60 with passenger Marissa Anne Hale, 18, of Riverview. When he turned north onto U.S. 301, he lost control and collided with the raised center median. The motorcycle overturned and the motorcycle came to rest in the inside lane of U.S. 301, where a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Ejgu Chanie Marye, 46, of Riverview collided with the motorcycle.

The man was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died. Hale was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Ejgu Chanie Marye, 46, of Riverview, was not taken to a hospital.
