Plant City Church of Christ to present lecture series

“Evidences for Faith” is the theme of a series of lectures to be presented at the Plant City Church of Christ, 315 N. Wilder Rd., Sept. 8 to 13. Ferrell Jenkins will be the presenter.

Jenkins is a retired professor of biblical studies at Florida College in Temple Terrace. He has been conducting study tours to the holy land almost annually since 1967 and has visited most of the area where the events recorded in the bible took place. His travels have taken him to Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Malta, and Cyprus as well as other places in Europe, Africa, and the Orient.

Jenkins is author of “Introduction to Christian Evidences,” “The Theme of the Bible” and several other works. In 1980 he was a member of the institutional staff of the Lachish Archaeological Expedition. He is listed in “Who’s Who in Religion” and “Who’s Who in Biblical Studies and Archaeology.”

He retired as chairman of Biblical Studies at Florida College in May, 2001. Since that time he has conducted tours or made personal study tours to Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Cyprus, and Israel. He has also photographed important biblical artifacts in the British Museum, the Louvre, and the museums of Berlin.

Lessons will be presented at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday; Monday through Friday lessons will begin at 7:30 p.m. These lessons are open to the public at no charge.
