With a bye next week, this loss brought the Cougars’ 2013 season to a close. Even if they could have held on to win, Plant City’s 26-3 victory at Brandon would have closed the playoff window anyway.
Joe Williamson put the Cougars on the scoreboard early by catching a 20-yard touchdown pass, and it stayed that way until East Bay’s Chris Greene ran for six points on a five-yard pickup. The extra point attempt was no good, and the third quarter came to a close with a 7-6 score.
