A group of volunteers from Hopewell Baptist Church visited Jackson Elementary Friday, Aug. 28, to deliver bags of food for students to have over the weekend.
The program is called Hope Bags. Many students at Jackson Elementary do not have enough food to last them over the weekend. Hopewell volunteers return every Friday during the school year to provide Hope Bags of healthy snacks.
The program has grown from 40 kids several years ago to close to 100, and it is still growing as the needs become known.
