SOFTBALL: Brandon at Strawberry Crest

Were the Lady Chargers still upset on Tuesday night about the loss to Bloomingdale?

It sure looked like it, since Strawberry Crest forced the mercy rule on Brandon with a 15-0 shutout in three innings.

The Lady Eagles pitching staff struggled with its control all night, giving Crest plenty of free bases by walks and, in Mia Fung’s case, an HBP. They also couldn’t find an answer for pitcher Scottie Todd, struggling to get beyond first base and falling prey to the Lady Chargers’ defense.

Twelve of the 15 runs came in the first two innings, and Crest sealed it in the third after giving up two runs with spotty fielding and loading the bases with consecutive walks. After Fung took the hit, Taylor Brown sent home the runner on third with an RBI single.
