Each year Jensen’s Heart of Gold Foundation creates a special day for local families to enjoy a moment of carefree play. Everything is free from the food and drinks to the plentiful games. Local civic clubs, groups and organizations come together to provide booths with activities and entertainment.
The event is in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and ribbons were handed out by members of the Strawberry Queen Court to attendees. Emily Pierce, executive vice president of the Florida Chapter, said the event is a way to help children who are currently fighting to have a moment to do what they do best: play.
Children of all ages and backgrounds flock to the train depot to enjoy the day of fun. It’s open to every member of the community and was filled with families from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
