Hopewell Funeral home and Memorial Gardens held its 32nd annual Veterans Day service Saturday.
The Plant City community packed into Courier Field, home of the city’s seven-year old veteran’s monument for the event, held in partnership with the City of Plant City.
Winners of a student essay contest from Hillsborough County School District Area 6 schools read their winning pieces about what Veterans Day means to them and the Springhead Elementary Choir provided a soundtrack of patriotic songs.
The event also featured the annual dedication of bricks laid in the shadow of the park’s monument to honor the men and women of Plant City who served in the armed forces.
