Strawberry Crest fell to King High School 28-16 Sept. 28, in a tough game at King.

A lightning delay forced both teams off the field for 30 minutes halfway through the first quarter. The Chargers got on the scoreboard first on a Tristan Hyde touchdown pass to Alex Carswell. Karel Hamilton added the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.

King’s potent running attack put the Lions on the board to pull to 8-7 at the half.

However, the Lions pulled away in the second half, with three touchdown passes by quarterback Kenyatta Young. Hyde connected once more with Hamilton in the fourth.

Strawberry Crest drops to 2-3 on the season; King improves to 1-4.
