Participants of Relay for Life walked 18 hours around the track at Plant City High School.
When the sun rose, they were no doubt tired. But not tired enough to do a victory lap and listen to a 13-school children’s chorus.
The crowd released 100 biodegradable balloons into the air in honor of Relay’s 100th birthday.
The goal for this year’s Relay was $275,000. So far, the 72 teams raised $230,000. The monies are still being counted.
