PHOTO GALLERY: Man on the Street sculptures

The “Man on the Street” collection of sculptures are back in Plant City. 10 bronze sculptures were unloaded off a semi truck by the train depot Tuesday, July 15.

The life-sized sculptures were done by artist J. Seward Johnson. Each one is about 350 to 500 pounds. Some with two figures on one disc can weigh as much as 700 pounds. The smallest can weigh 100 pounds.

They will be placed around the Historic Downtown area. One will go on the train viewing platform, another will go by the caboose. Four will go in McCall Park. And one each will be placed at the Bruton Memorial Library, Plant City Entertainment, the Photo Archives and History Center and on the corner of Evers and Drane streets.

An official unveiling will be July 28.

Make sure to catch next week’s Top of the Town video recap to see footage of the sculptures being unloaded.
