In a blind taste test that was almost a tie, Laura Denovi won a trip to Napa Valley as part of Keel and Curley Winery’s Golden Cork contest. The taste test and party for wine club members was held Thursday, Oct. 10.
Denovi said she had always wanted to go to Napa Valley for her 40th birthday. That dream came true.
Her friend, Angel Lane, was at the competition cheering her on. She said Denovi and her had been practicing for the taste test. They had practiced the night before and Denovi scored 100%. Denovi will be taking Lane with her.
The Golden Cork contest was a promotion to celebrate the winery’s 10-year anniversary. Six winners found a golden cork in their wine purchased at stores throughout the Tampa Bay area. One of the contestants did not show up, making the odds better.
