Plant City's Stormwater Division and the Plant City Lion's Club teamed up Saturday to help support local bee populations as part of Earth Day festivities by spreading more than 20,000 Wildflower seeds.
A 30-by-30 foot patch of land was dug and prepared by the Stormwater Division at the new McIntosh Park on Knight's Griffin Road for the project.
Feed A Bee is a program started by Bayer, the pharmaceutical company, to support bee populations. According to Bayer, since the program started in 2015, about 2 billion wildflower seeds have been spread.
