More than 250 chamber members and agriculture supporters attended the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce Salute to Agriculture Contact Breakfast Wednesday at the Florida Strawberry Festival Expo Hall.
The event honored local agriculture professionals and educators. Emily Petrilli was named the Agriculture Educator of the Year, while John Poppell of Poppell Insurance was named the 2013 Supporter of Youth Agriculture.
Wish Farms was awarded as the Agriculture Business of the Year and Steve Mathis was named the Plant City Chamber of Commerce Agriculturist of the Year. Sam Astin III of Astin Farms was honored with the chamber’s Good Egg Award.
