It's finally here. The Florida Strawberry Festival is now officially open. Thousands of guests have already made their way through the grounds and hundreds of thousands more will attend before the 11 days are through.
Thousands flocked to opening day at the Florida Strawberry Festival. When the gates opened at 10 a.m. guests were greeted by the Strawberry Queen and Court, the festival’s mascot Mr. Berry, Mayor Rick Lott and members of the festival board of directors.
Plant City’s largest event will see more than 500,000 guests before the 11 days are through. The festival will bring headline entertainment like Reba McEntire, Earth, Wind & Fire, Casting Crowns and Brad Paisley to the event while also staying true to its roots with a plethora of agriculture shows.
Visitors can also enjoy the unique Plant City themed food like the famous strawberry shortcakes, strawberry funnel cakes, strawberry lasagna, strawberry tacos and more. Don’t forget to visit the Parkesdale Farms or Wish Farms booths to pick up fresh strawberries for the ride home.
