Bronx native Patrick Fogarty plowed through more than 3 feet of corn dog to emerge victorious in the Super Dog Corn Dog Eating Competition.
He came with a mission and accepted nothing but complete success.
Patrick J. Fogarty, a Bronx native, chowed his way to victory Wednesday in the Super Dog Corn Dog Eating Competition at the Florida Strawberry Festival.
Dubbed "New York" by emcee Randy Scott, Fogarty's animated persona drew quick cheers from the crowd, even prompting him to run off the stage for a little interaction with the front rows.
Nine contestants faced off to see who could be the first to finish two 18-inch corn dogs for a total of 3-feet of food in the contests sixth year. Fogarty showed up early, heading over while on break from running one of the Festival's many games. He said he was there to win and win he did, taking home a trophy and $100 in cash.
