Florida Youth at Heart sells out fundraising banquet

Florida’s Youth at Heart chapter of Outdoors at Last held a fundraising banquet at the Elks Lodge in Plant City on July 29. Outdoors is a non profit organization that makes hunting and fishing possible for any child who wishes to do so and has no means or help to go. The organization focuses on aiding children with special needs and children from military families.

Attendees participated in an auction for items like guns, hunting trips, wildlife prints, vacations to Belize and Costa Rica, coolers and more. The event was ran by Tiffany Christie and Alyssa Brown and included dinner catered by Hardwood BBQ.

Christie said they started with 150 tickets, sold out and then increased the seating with 30 more seats, reaching capacity. The event sold out two weeks in advance. Sponsor tables were given a Henry Golden Boy Gun for sponsoring.

This was the Florida chapter’s first banquet and Christie said they plan to make it an annual event.
