Rise Plant City held its second annual dodgeball tournament Saturday, June 9 to raise money for Jensen’s Heart of Gold. Teams donned matching outfits ranging from nerd attire to superhero themed and took to the courts in an epic showdown.
The tournament raised $750 for Jensen’s Heart of Gold, which raises funds to spread the love toward childhood cancer families in Central Florida through cash hardship assistance. Last year, the money raised was matched by City Pointe Church. Rise is searching for someone to step up and make a match this year.
Balls, Bars & Burpees, Dodge Fathers, Dodgeballs Deep, Hillsborough Title, O’Brien’s OG’s, We are Ford: We Don’t Dodge, Balls Out, The BG’s, Ice Pops Factory, John K9 Dogsballs, College Hunks Hauling Junk and Griner Legal all participated in the event.
After much running, ball hurling and savage hits the top three teams were:
1st- The BG’s from The Plant City Boys and Girls Club (repeat champions)
2nd- Ball, Bars & Burpees from Crossfit Plant City
3rd- Balls Out from Green Life Environmental
