First Presbyterian Church became a UFO landing site for three days last week, but not in the way you’d think.
Rather than a group of space aliens taking over the church’s basement, the Berry Patch Quilting Guild held its quarterly members’ retreat from Thursday through Saturday for friendship, trading tips and setting out to work on members’ “Un-Finished Objects.”
The retreat was also open to the public in case anyone interested in the art wanted to learn more. Anyone interested in membership can visit the guild during one of its regular Wednesday morning meetings at 9 a.m. at the church, 404 W. Reynolds St.
