The start of the new year in Plant City also brought some new faces into prominent positions.
Anticipation surrounding the annual Strawberry Queen and Junior Royalty pageants was as high as ever as the town awaited for its new queens and courts to be crowned. The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce also underwent a changing of the guard as Yvonne Fry became its chairperson.
The city also had cause to celebrate with the Martin Luther King festival, business additions and expansions and milestones among the churches.
