Plant City Police Department detectives are looking for a man suspected of robbing several Walgreens stores.
Detectives said a man robbed the Plant City store at 2102 W. Baker St. on Aug. 31 and Sept. 6, and may also be responsible for robberies in Temple Terrace and the Orlando area that have happened over the last two weeks.
Police said the suspect's actions in Plant City were the same on both dates: he entered the store looking for a single bottle of water, reached into the open cash drawer after handing the clerks $1 bills and fled the scene in a small, dark-colored, two-door vehicle. The suspect stole $20 at 6:21 a.m. on Aug. 31 after struggling with the cashier and nabbed $150 from the cash drawer at 6:24 a.m. on Sept. 6.
He's described as a black male standing between 5-foot-10 and six feet tall, weighing between 225 and 240 pounds and always wearing a tan baseball cap with an unknown logo on the front. The suspect wore different clothing in each incident, save for the hat. Detectives believe the suspect may also be responsible for similar Walgreens robberies in Temple Terrace, Apopka, Winter Garden, Osceola and Ocoee over the last two weeks.
Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to notify the Plant City Police Department. Crime Stoppers must be contacted first in order to be eligible for the reward.
