OUR TOWN: Meat raffle a success

Knights of Columbus Council 8095 at St. Clement Church raised $2,400 for charity with its annual meat raffle.

Parishioner Tom Cowan bought the winning ticket and picked up a trunk load of packaged beef from Rick’s Custom Meats April 18 in Lithia. An anonymous donor paid for the $799 meat package.

The raffle, organized by council member Andrew Bryant for the past three years, helps the group support programs such as the Pregnancy Care Center of Plant City, Citizens with Disabilities Centers in Plant City, and Valrico and Riverview and the Knights of Columbus. Wheelchair Foundation.
