Talmadge Lee Taylor, 81, of Plant City, died May 5, 2015, at his home.
A native of Quitman, Georgia, he was the son of the late Randle and Omie Sapp Taylor. Mr. Taylor worked at the Frostproof News, Avon Park Sun, Sebring News, Plant City Courier and Polk Shopper, and retired from the Winter Haven News Chief. He loved the Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Rays.
Survivors include his beloved wife, JoAnn Brown Taylor; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Phillips and Susan (Clifford) Reed; sisters, Ophelia Pangles, Carol Whitlock and Harriet Lynott; grandchildren, Cody (LeeAnn), Robert (Millied) and Grace Reed, Kara Phillips and Jessie (Joseph) Jimenez; and great-grandchildren, Logan and Jaxon Reed. He was preceded in death by brothersm Buford, Melvin, Randle and Harold Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Haught Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be made at haughtfuneralhome.com.
