Obituary: Quentin “Benny” DuBois

Quentin “Benny” DuBois, 73, of Lake Wales, and formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, and Granbury, Texas, died Sept. 12, 2015.

Mr. DuBois was born in Springhead, Florida. He graduated with honors in nuclear engineering from the University of South Florida and the University of Florida. He was the past president of the Nuclear Society, mentor with the Junior Achievement Society and a member of the Kappa Alpha Society and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth “Betty” DuBois; daughter, Alison DuBois Scutte (Al), of Oldsmar; grandchildren, Merritt Horan, Maxwell Plumer, Josie Scutte and Ryan Scutte; sister-in-law, Bonnie DuBois Black; nephew, Wayne; nieces, Terri and Sherri; and dog, Tebow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Q.P. and Pearl DuBois; son, John DuBois; and brother, Ronnie DuBois.

A celebration of life was held  Sept. 19 at Hopewell Funeral Home in Plant City. Interment was held at Springhead Cemetery in Lakeland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778, and/or a COPD charity of choice.
