Obituary: Jack Richard Atkins

Jack Richard Atkins, 74, of Hayesville, North Carolina, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was a native of Roanoke, Virginia and lived many years in Plant City before moving to Murphy, North Carolina in 1977. Mr. Atkins was the owner/operator of a HVAC company and mentored several young men in the field. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Omar Ashby and Mary Elizabeth Chisom Atkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Atkins Sellers; and a brother, Michael Atkins.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Young Atkins; daughters, Beth Atkins and Debra Atkins Intemann (Henry), all of Hayesville; brother, David Atkins (Kay), of Salem, Virginia; and grandchildren, Lexie, Breanne, Lindsey, Sutherlan, Madison and Sumner Cope, and Elizabeth Intemann.
