Catherine McDermott Ott, 90, of Plant City, died May 13, 2015.
Mrs. Ott was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut July 19, 1924 to Irish parents. She married John G. Ott in 1952, while he was in the Navy. The family moved in 1966 to Winter Park, where Mrs. Ott retired from the school system having worked as a cafeteria manager. In August 2012, they moved to Plant City. Mrs. Ott was a wonderful caring wife, mother and grandmother, who was loved by all who came in contact with her.
She is survived by her children, the Honorable John E. Ott (Karen), of Birmingham, Alabama, and Mary Ott Wood (Art), of Plant City; and granddaughter, Abby Ott Hester (TJ), of Lousiville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Ott was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John J. Ott.
A celebration of life was May 18 at Hopewell Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was May 19 at St. Clement Catholic Church, followed by a committal at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
