Obituary: Buddy Nail

Buddy Nail, 77, a longtime resident of Lake City, died Oct. 18, 2014, in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley Care Center.

A native of Plant City, he was the son of the late E.W. and Mary Fletcher Nail. Mr. Nail moved in 1960 to Lake City. He was the owner and operator of RedBud Enterprise, a business that he had been a part of since 1976. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing, raising his horses and cows, and spending time with his puppy, Possum.

Mr. Nail was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Pat.

Mr. Nail is survived by partner and friend, Judy Sharpsteen; sons, Richard Nail and Steve Nail; grandchildren, Stephanie McDonald (Lance), Tina Jackson (Eric) and Wayne Hopkins (Robin); three great-grandchildren; his brother, Keith Nail, of Plant City; and his sister, Olean Gibbs of Franklin, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley, 6037 U.S. 90 W. Lake City, Florida 32055. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home, 458 S. Marion Ave., Lake City, Florida, 32025.
