Evelyn Annie Virginia Beckley Fowler

Evelyn Annie Virginia Beckley Fowler, 97, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on the 4th of July, 2020. She was born Feb. 1, 1923 in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. 

The daughter of Joseph Luther Beckley and Mary H.Yearley. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James T. Fowler Jr. and four siblings, Charles, Allen, Betty and Mary Louise. 

She is survived by two children and their spouses, Leeanna K. & Barry Gray of Lawrenceville, James T. Fowler III & Sue Fowler of Fort Myers, FL, 8 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Mrs. Fowler had many occupations in her lifetime but retired after 34 years of faithful service from the Hillsborough County School System as a supervisor in the food service department. 

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Lawrenceville Ward, and relief society, She was past president of the Angus R. Goss Marine Corp. League auxiliary of Florida, member of the Girl Scouts and the 4H club of America. 

Funeral Services were held July 8, 2020 at the chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home, with Bishop Richard Branham officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be held Friday July 10, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL beside her husband James T. Fowler. 

In lieu of flowers please make contributions in her honor to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Humanitarian Fund 328 Patterson Road Lawrenceville GA 30045.

Linda D. McCormick, age 69, of Valrico, passed away on Thursday July 2, 2020. Linda was born December 31, 1950.

Donald W. Tomlin, age 97, of Plant City, passed away on Tuesday June 30, 2020. Donald was born May 11, 1923 in Avon, Ohio. He was a veteran.

Emory Ruffin

Mr. Emory Ruffin, born March 29, 1939, died June 28, 2020.

Charles ‘C.L.’ Giddens

Charles “C.L.” Giddens, 85, of Plant City, born Dec. 15, 1934, entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2020.

Dewayne Bingham

Dewayne Bingham, 77, of Dover, born in Milledgeville, Tennessee on Nov. 2, 1942, entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2020.

Neil J. Davis

Neil J. Davis (“Gator”, to his friends), 94, of Plant City, born in Bartow on Nov. 25, 1925, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 29, 2020. 

He attended the infamous Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys, and was the oldest known member of the White House Boys. 

He was a veteran of the United States Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps, serving in WWII in the military police. He was an investigator with W.C. Crumbley U.S. Marshall’s Office in Tampa in the mid ‘40s. He retired from GTE, where he was a member of IBEW Local 824, serving as Vice President and Chief Union Steward in the early ‘60s. He was a family historian and enjoyed gardening. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Coleman Davis; and siblings, William “Bill” Davis, and Peggy E. Smith. 

He is survived by his children, Alan S. Davis, Carole D. Ellis (William), Brenda E. Davis, and Wayde C. Davis; brother, Dusty W. Davis (Dorothy); 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and close friends, Ed Nelson, Lee Surett, and Jim Crews.

Services were held July 7, 2020 at Hopewell Funeral Home.
