Karen Ciganik

On Saturday, March 7th, 2020, Karen Ciganik, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and best friend passed away at the age of 81.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Ciganik; brother, Jerry McMeeken; brother-in-law, John; sister-in-laws, Margie and Lily and their spouses.

She is survived by her daughter, and best friend, Pamela Ciganik; brother, Jim McMeeken (Becky); sister –in-laws, Mary McMeeken, Carol McMeeken, and  Maryann Bies; brother-in-law, Jerry Ciganik (Sharon Hamblin); and awesome cousins, fantastic nieces and nephews, stepchildren and dear friends.

Karen found numerous friendships and enjoyed teaching crafts and giving those things that she created away to others. She earned several blue ribbons for both her crafts and baked goods at the Florida State Fair and Strawberry Festival and she would often stop by the Family Care Pharmacy to bless the employees with fresh donuts and her warm heart.

She also enjoyed Bingo, morning coffee, traveling and her beloved University of South Florida’s Women’s Basketball Team (the team has lost one of their biggest fans).

In her local residential community, she volunteered on the kitchen committee and served as the chairperson of the memorial luncheons.

Her infectious laugh, generous heart, and loving smile will be missed by many people.

Many thanks to all who touched her life, including the staff at Family Care Pharmacy, Health

Solutions Wellness Center, Conviva Care, South Florida Baptist Hospital, and Solaris Healthcare.

Karen lived on her own terms and left her on her own terms, always thinking of others first.  Memorials and contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Karen.
