Mildred Evelyn MacLeod

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mildred Evelyn MacLeod, 91, on Oct. 17, 2025, in Temple Terrace, Fla.
Millie’s adventurous spirit, engaging personality, & bound-less love will forever live on in the hearts of her children: Bar-bara MacLeod (Ohio), Mary (Mark) Huntington (Florida), & Robert MacLeod (Texas); her grandchildren: Brad (Elizabeth) Huntington, Jason Huntington, Kayla (Eric) MacLeod, & Colin MacLeod; and her great grandchild, Emma Huntington. She was preceded in death by her parents (Selmer & Elsie Moen), her husband (Robert Mac-Leod), and her brother (Ronald Moen).
Mildred MacLeod was a brilliant and accomplished woman. Graduate of Larimore, ND High School (1951) & Concordia College, Moorhead, MN (1955). She also attended the University of Oslo, Norway in 1956.
She was a servant to God, family, & her communities. For 20 years she worked as a council person in Moorhead, MN. During that time, she served on numerous city, state, & national committees earning the CC Ludwig Award in 1995 (highest recognition given to a city official). In 1996 she was awarded the YMCA’s Woman of the Year. Millie’s colleagues & friends remember her as a natural leader, tireless worker, & a mentor to many.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Millie was known for her hospitality and generosity. She supported over 30 charitable organizations, always ready to help those in need. Millie also traveled extensively, visiting over 60 countries and 5 continents.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, we honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on the world. Open service at 11:00 a.m., First United Methodist Church of Plant City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels of Plant City.
