Marjorie “Margie” Gonzalez, 95, of Plant City, Fla., born Marjorie Marquardt on Aug. 25, 1930, in Berlin, Wisconsin, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 26, 2026. She moved to Florida with her husband Angel Gonzalez in 1953. She loved golfing, being a member of the Women’s Club, The Elks, and entertaining friends in her home. Margie took up golf in her mid 50’s and managed to earn 5 Hole in Ones. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Angel Gonzalez; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Gonzalez; daughter, Susan Rind; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Rind, Jonathan Gonzalez, and Christopher Gonzalez. One of her proudest accomplishments is at the age of 87 she walked 87 miles for Operation Smiles raising funds to support 21 surgeries for children born with Cleft Palates. A funeral service will be held Mar. 10, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M.
