Stingray Chevrolet to host “Coffee With A Cop” event

In partnership with local law enforcement, including Plant City Police Department, Stingray Chevrolet will host to their “Coffee With A Cop” event in Plant City this October.

The event is an opportunity for citizens to meet and speak with local law enforcement professionals. The agencies will also bring equipment and vehicles for the public to see and discuss with officers.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 7 to 10 a.m. at 2002 N. Frontage Rd.

Chaplaincy Care to hold third annual Banquet of Heroes fundraiser

Chaplaincy Care will hold their third annual Banquet of Heroes fundraiser dinner, aimed at helping the non-profit organization continue to support area first responders.

The Banquet of Heroes will feature stories from local first responders as they share stories of strength, courage and faith and several local first responders will be in attendance. This year’s keynote speaker is Retired Major General Doug Carver, U.S. Army. In addition, the first responder musical group The New Floridians will perform.

The festivities will also include a silent auction featuring a signed jersey from Erik Cernak of the Stanley Cup-winning Tampa Bay Lightning.

Chaplaincy Care’s mission is to protect the heart of the warrior with mentoring, resiliency, training and counseling and trauma clearing to law enforcement, fire-rescue, security and military heroes in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

South Florida Baptist recognizes Team Member of the Month, Year

South Florida Baptist hospital has recognized their Team Member of the Month for September and their Team Member of the Year for 2020.

Chelsey Wade, a nurse with the cardiopulmonary rehab department, was named the Team Member of the Year for 2020. Additionally, Wade was also the August Team Member of the Month last year.

“She has been willing to learn any task and teach others,” Wade’s nomination statement said. “She is solution-oriented and able to work with all staff and patient populations without conflict. Chelsey finds creative ways to express the appreciation of others.”

South Florida Baptist Hospital’s Team Member of the Month for August is Claudia Lopez, a member of the hospital’s admitting/registration department.

“Over the years, I have observed Claudia as an extremely positive and hard-working woman who will go the extra mile, always, to make sure she does the best job she can possibly do,” one team member said.” The patients, and her co-workers as well, love her compassion and caring attitude. She is there for her department wherever and whenever she is needed.”
