Trash & Recycling Holiday Schedule
The Labor Day holiday will have an impact on the collection of trash and recycling. There will be no collection of trash or recycling on Monday, September 7. There will be normal service for the remainder of the week.
There will be normal collection of yard waste on Wednesday, September 9.
For commercial dumpster and curbside, Monday and Tuesday service will be on Tuesday, September 8, with normal service for the remainder of the week.
Time to Kickstart a New Musical Adventure!
The Plant City Community Chorale seeks new singers of all ages and experience levels to join the Fall / Winter 2026 session. The Chorale performs all styles and types of music, from popular tunes to Broadway favorites to enduring classical compositions. All voice types are welcome. The Plant City Community Chorale is under the direction of Coleman Flentge.

Official Results Certified for the Primary Election
Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer announced that the Canvassing Board met and certified the official results of the 2026 Primary Election.
The Canvassing Board also conducted a post-election audit, which confirmed the accuracy of the tabulation equipment and the results reporting.

Parenting and Youth Empowerment Seminar
Building Strong Families, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with support from Safe and Sound Hillsborough and the Education Committee of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Plant City, will host a Parenting and Youth Empowerment Seminar on Saturday, September 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center, 302 S. Maryland Ave.
The seminar will feature sessions on interacting appropriately with law enforcement, human trafficking awareness and prevention, identifying mental health and educational resources, and advocating for your children in the school system.
Speakers include Dr. Tony Smith, a retired Tampa Police officer, a representative from One More Child, and school psychologist Breanna Adams. Additionally, there will be a panel of current and former educators including Dr. Rickey Grayes, Chief of Schools, Hillsborough County Schools, Mr. Ross Anderson, Student Advocate Liaison in the Office of Innovation and Strategic Planning, and Rev. Cheryl Ferrell, pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church and retired instructor in the Hillsborough County Schools.
The seminar will include a breakout session designed especially for teens and preteens as well as a performance by Drums Beyond Beats Community Drumline. A light lunch and other refreshments will be served.
The seminar is free, but registration is required by September 3, 2026.

McIntosh Green Market is Back
The McIntosh Green Market will be held at McIntosh Preserve on Saturday, Sept 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Enjoy nature-inspired vendors, like plant nurseries and artisans, food trucks, a kids’ market, hands-on activities, environmental organizations, and more!

Oktoberfest will be held on September 26 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in downtown Plant City. There are opportunities available for sponsorships, vendors, and volunteers.
